In recent months, a dangerous practice has emerged among drivers in our country that mechanics at Vehicle Inspection stations don't like at all. A TikTok user from Spain, @la_itv, has reported this case and stated that driving in these conditions is "quite dangerous."

What is the dangerous trap?

"Look, people. Now, since it costs money to put air in tires at gas stations... drivers come to pass the vehicle inspection without air in their tires. They have empty tires, as we can see," the video's protagonist begins in the post.

The user explains that the tire "comes off the rim" after setting it in motion and also compares two types of wheels (with and without air): "We set it in motion and it comes off the rim , which is quite curious. As we can see, the wheel on this side stays in place because it has the correct air pressure... just as it should."

On the other hand, he also details the poor condition of one of a customer's tires: "This one, for example, has a very large crack ; look at the missing piece. It's quite noticeable, and you can see that something is stuck in this part. This needs to be fixed and replaced. You can't drive like this."

Are drivers aware of the danger?

In the vast majority of cases, drivers aren't fully aware of these types of situations, as the video's creator explains, stating that it's a "very big problem" : "They drive until the tire bursts and causes a problem. People aren't aware of this, and honestly, it's a very big problem. Normally, it's the car's inner tires that suffer the most."

Finally, he advises drivers that, if they find themselves in such a situation, they should fill the tire with air to avoid endangering their lives and the lives of other drivers: "You already know what you have to do... when you go to the MOT, put air in the tire, especially if it is completely empty, and you will save yourself problems when you pass the test, and you will also reduce the possibility of causing a traffic accident ."
